PARCELLES DE LAC

Revered and nicknamed «the turquoise solitary of Azerbaijan» by the Azeris, Lake Urimia was one of the largest salt lakes in the Middle East. All that remains of this past are the piers that lead to nowhere and the white, barren landscape of the salt flats. The salt dust that comes from the lake bed is carried by the winds, covering the fields and making them infertile. In recent years, the sublime turquoise waters of Ourmia have become stained with blood red. This lake is disappearing, we can no longer discern the remains of water from the land.
